Bruschette is undoubtedly one of the signature dishes of Made in Italy cuisine. A delicacy of poor cuisine that is thought to have originated in the Neapolitan tradition, later gaining popularity all over the world.
In addition to the unmistakable fragrance of the bread, the characteristic that conquers all palates is its simplicity, allowing the genuine ingredients of our land to be savoured: tomato, oil, garlic and basil.

The word ‘bruschetta’ is assumed to derive from the name of an ancient brush for oxen and horses, the brusca. The dish originated from the farmers’ need to preserve loaves of bread, a precious commodity that could not be wasted. The slice of bread was toasted, or abbruscata, over the fire and then rubbed with garlic, to which oil, salt and cherry tomatoes were then added.
